MEET OUR CONSULTANTS

Mdm. Au Wai Fong hails from Sandakan, Sabah and served in the Sabah Agriculture Department from March 1987 to February 2022 and her last position was Deputy Director of Agriculture in the Research and Innovation Division, Sabah Agriculture Department Headquarters. She also a member of Society of Agricultural Scientists Sabah (SASS) since 1988. Throughout her service, she has received 7 times Certificate of Outstanding Service (SPC) Award successively in 2010 to 2017 and the CIO/ Most Active Individual (ICT) Engagement Award in 2019. She successfully completed her studies with distinction in Diploma in Agriculture (Year 1) in 1982 and Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 1986 at Malaysia Agriculture University. Mdm Au has more than 34 years of experience in specialized crop research and development in coconut cultivation and production of planting material; cultivation of medicinal plants and production of bamboo shoots.

During her great services, Mdm Au has done a few of publication focusing on cultivation and breeding, food quality of coconut. Beside she also expert in planting herbs, peach palm and bamboo. She also been as a lead coordinator for International Coconut Genetic Resources Network program (COGENT) on coconut community development and germplasm conservation in Kudat area. Introduce coconut planting material production technology to private sector and selected farmers to produce quality coconut planting such as Pandan and Tacunan Green Dwarf Coconut for coconut industry development. She also actively involves in communities’ program to encourage farmers to invest in coconut cultivation by using good planting material and focus on value added production. As a consultant, she hoped that efforts to help develop and sustain sustainability in the agricultural industry in this state could be achieved for the sake of future generations.
